Hello and welcome to It’s a wonderful world!!

My name is Yssa and I maintain this blog where I write reviews of otome games I play. Otome gaming used to be the center of my universe but after getting into 医大 I realized that I no longer have the time to indulge myself in a game and finish everything in 3 days. I did announce my retirement from otome gaming back in 2018 but I just love it so much, I found myself going back to it again. And I pay $$$ per year for the domain–forces me to play games and write my thoughts about them here!

My favorite otome games are those that make me cry rivers and have unexpected plot twists but I’m always a sucker for good romance. Until I edit this page again, my top 3 are still Shinigami to Shoujo, Ken ga Kimi, and Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly uwu (Please play them if you still haven’t!)

Some of my older reviews have (skippable) detailed summary of the story but because I’ve gotten lazy due to time constraints I now only do just a plain spoiler-free review, with just my thoughts.

I hang around twitter sometimes, my otoge/shoujo manga/mobage twt is still @miyumint_ so you can follow me there if you wanna see my live reaction to stuff!

よろしく! >w<

  3. Heya! I wanted to know if you’d be interested in exchanging blogroll links with me?

I run an otome blog called Nice Job Breaking It, Hero and I would love to exchange links with you (I’m a longtime lurker and fan lol).

Here’s a link to my blog if you are interested: https://bakphoontyphoon.wordpress.com/

I’d love to chat with you some more if you have the chance! I love chatting with fellow otoge fans!!

    • Sure! I added you on my blogroll ^_^ I’m always on twitter so we can have conversations there ✨

  4. Hey gurl, wanna exchange links? ;)

  5. Hi, I love your blog, and I’d love to exchange links with you (ᗒᗨᗕ)
I’ve already added you to my blogroll, if that’s okay with you, and my link is https://anothergamingday.wordpress.com and the title is Another Gaming Day (⌬̀⌄⌬́)
I’m looking forward to more otoge posts ۹(˒௰˓)۶

    • Hi Cat! I added you on my blogroll as well! >w</ I also followed you in twitter, so cheers for more otoge fangirling <3

      • Thanks, Alyssa! (*≧▽≦)

  6. Hi, I just wanted to say that I (finally) linked back to your blog! Thanks for the link and sorry that it took me so long to realise – especially since I already follow you back on twitter. orz Glad to see that Jyuuzaengi is on your to-play list by the way! <3

    • Thanks for linking back! (o^^o)
I have quite an impressive backlog at the moment so I probably won’t get to Jyuuza that soon but I’ll definitely play it because I love Teita’s art and there’s Ishida Akira in the cast!

  7. こんにちは, Yssa!
I saw you followed & commented on my blog earlier, so I thought I’d have a look at yours… and then I find that you post about all the things I like! hahaha XD

    • Cheers for our fandoms! ^_^= (I’m quite new to the otoge fandom though…)

      • Hahaha I think I’ve been in the fandom for maybe… 2-3 years? Maybe less. I think my first otoge was Tokimeki Memorial Girls Side… and then I was stuck in the fandom. ^_^.

      • It was roommate who introduced me to otome games (which I call “dating sims” before my roommate corrected me and said it will be fancier to call them “visual novels”) — that was a year and a half ago, I think — the first games I played where those indie games made with Ren’py, and a couple of flash games in Deviantart. But I pretty much know the so-called Japanese otome games long ago because of my love for reverse harems, particularly La Corda d’Oro. It wasn’t until a friend suggested Hakouki that I was introduced to the real Japanese otoge world… and then I joined the basic Japanese lessons that my univ org offered and I was finally able to play some Japanese otoge ^_^=

  8. If u still do some manga ! I like to see some Sarah and Luc art ..I saw u draw Chris ! Well u good ..so try Sarah ;)

  9. Hello.. Please try Dengeki Daisy manga.. I hope you’ll like it.. :)

    • Thanks for the suggestion! ^_^ I might try it next time, after I finish reading Seiyuu-ka.

      • You’re welcome! :)

    genki desu ka?
    kawaii anime collections..
    an otakuzine collector.. sugoi.. :)

    • Genki desu~ ^_^

Thanks! Though I no longer collect Otakuzine. I stopped buying the magazine at issue 56, and I have only 14 issues. I’m currently more into collecting manga and artbooks ^_^

  11. Oh no way, you should read the manga first. And then try to watch the anime if you can (IF you can…). Support Amuto! Ikuto is not a snob!!! ^_^

  12. “Most blogs are opinionated, and this blog is one too. I always cite my own thoughts with an anime or manga. Please bear in mind that we, people, have different opinions, so let’s respect each other’s point of view. That way, peace and order can be observed ^_^. ”

My blog is opinionated as well.
But I won’t get mad at Tadamu supporters unless they insult Amuto in my face. ^_^

    • That line/s is/are (a) paraphrase from Simplicity, FuyuMaiden’s blog ^_^. I really love her site, which I discovered a year after I started my anime blogging. I saw the link in your blogroll too :D
I don’t insult anime characters/parings, though I say some things I don’t like about them (but if the anime itself is really ‘insult-able’, I can’t control my words :D ). Ikuto is hot~ :) It’s just that I prefer Tadase ^_^

      • FuyuMaiden has been blogging again lately, did you check her stuff? :) Shugo Chara the anime is really “insult-able” because considering how the manga turned out, the anime could’ve been done SO much better. And that’s just the truth.
And yes, Ikuto is hot ;) And I didn’t hate the Tadase in the manga at the end. The anime ruined Tadase, made him more annoying than he was.

        • Yes! FuyuMaiden is finally blogging again… thanks for the news ^_^ Now I’m going to visit her blog every time I go online (as what I always do with fellow shoujo bloggers – like you! ^_^)
Is the Shugo Chara anime recommended? I’ve started with the manga (finally) and I’m thinking of watching the anime… what do you think? Should I watch the anime or just stick with manga? (I’ve been into this anime vs. manga with La Corda d’Oro and I regretted reading the manga… I should have just been contented with the anime :) )
And…. I’m loving the Amuto ship! But I still love Tadamu…… so I guess that means i love the love triangle? Confused o.O
